Student review / feedback on MBA private tutoring

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

We get great student reviews / feedback from our students.  We don’t post all the feed back in our blog since this was not the intention of starting this MBA Tutoring Blog!  But we like to post feedback that distinguishes our service from other tutoring services and this is one such student review.

Hi,

I wanted to provide feedback on tutoring I’ve been receiving this week on Quantitative Analysis. The tutoring sessions have been more in-depth that I expected when my university mentioned they’d arrange a tutor. I simply thought someone would call me to answer questions I had and hang up the phone. Your service that you are providing is far superior that my original expectations. I received a call where weak topics where shared, and on a later date lesson plans where set up providing an incredible foundation to arrive at an overall understanding of my weak topics. This was not a question an answer session, but more like a classroom environment with a ratio of one teacher to one student. I’m incredibly grateful for the time spent on helping me understand topics and appreciate the effort that was set forth. I would like to compliment your company on the superior quality of service you have provided and I know there will be many satisfied customers to come! Thank you!

Respectfully,

Karen Burkardt

Thanks for the feedback Karen! We enjoyed working with you!

Evidence: Online tutoring is effective!

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

A visit to your doctor meant a visit to the hospital or a clinic. But not any more – at least in Hawaii!  Starting this January Americal Well along with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Hawaii allow patients to visit their doctors online.  Instead of waiting for an appointment or driving a long distance to a doctor’s office patients can go online to chat with a doctor! Read more about it in this NYT article.

Dr Roy Schoenberg, American Well’s co-founder says that “national studies on online care have found that patients would like to have Web chats with primary care doctors about colds or diabetes management, for example, or with specialists about symptoms such as lower back pain or bad headaches.”

If medical care can be delivered online, tutoring can just as effectively be done online.  Ofcourse, we are not taking their word for this :)   We have been testing this service for the last one year and have great feedback from our students.

Why experiment with multiple tutors to find a good quality tutor in MBA level finance? (Or for that matter in MBA level statistics, acconting, operations research or financial modeling or operations research). Or why travel to meet a high quality Graduate level/MBA tutor?
Just log on to GraduateTutor.com or call us to get a high quality tutor at a time convenient for you.

Hawaii is ideally suited for online activity given the travel hassels across islands.  However it is not just the seas that cause incovenience – high levels of traffic, tolls, availability of specialist, scheduling or sheer distances between places cause customers inconveniences.  These inconveniences are significantly reduced or eliminated by online tutoring.

GraduateTutor.com provides high quality online tutoring to MBA students and working professionals anywhere in the world (almost)! Log on or call us to experience high quality online tutoring.

What Graduate Tutor will not do

Monday, December 29th, 2008

We get a lot of questions on what does Graduate Tutor do?  The short answer is that we provide live online private tutoring.  Click here to read more on the type of service we provide MBA students and business executives.

Sometimes to fully understand what we do, it is helpful to know to know what we do not do!

We abide by generally accepted university honor codes.

Homework

Our MBA tutors do not do your homework for you. However, we will teach you the concepts that enable you to do your homework.  We will also be happy to provide you with tutoring assistance as you work on your homework.

MBA assignments

We do not do Graduate or MBA assignments for students.  However, we do  assist with MBA assignments by coaching students through the process. This includes tutoring MBA students on the concepts and theories or frameworks needed to complete the assignments, helping with selecting  assignment topics, finding relevant materials, etc.

The underling principle

Why do we not do MBA homework or MBA assignments? The main reason is that we do not want to steal your learning experience. If we did do MBA homework or MBA assignments, our graduate students would not learn what  these assignments / homework are designed to teach them. We want to make your learning process easier not prevent it!

Often, we have students whose faculty or teaching assistants are either not available or have not interest in helping / teaching / tutoring students individually even if they need it.  We even have students say that they have never had a class or the concepts were never addressed in class but were expected to pick it up on their own! We will be happy to assist in these cases.

In summary, if you are looking for somene to do your MBA homework or MBA assignments, we will not be of much help! But if you are a genuine student seeking help in learning, our MBA Tutors  can be of great value to you.
