Three Essentials to Achieve Anything Worthwhile

Submitted by NidhiN.

“The three great essentials to achieve anything worthwhile are, first, hard work; second, stick-to-itiveness; third, common sense.”This is one of the famous quotes given by Sir Thomas Alva Edison. I personally believe that every student must pay heed to this quote since it essentially defines the way to success. According to the famous all knowing website wikipedia a business (also known as enterprise or firm) is an organization engaged in the trade of goods , services, or both to consumers. But according to me business is a forum where in a lot of people  of different communities come together and handle the supply and demands of products efficiently. And mind it this requires a lot of tactics and hard work. Business has grown so much into our lives that without it our life would come to a total stop. In developed countries, virtually all economic production is done by companies; if there were no businesses, we would have virtually no goods or services. Business is important for a country’s economy because it can be a powerful tool for development; Business, private sectors, enterprises can help raise import/export, foreign investments , and cooperation between international actors. For this we require people adept at carrying out the business operations in the country. This is accomplished by good business schools and mainly depends on the perseverance and dedication of the student. The first step in becoming a competent business student is to get yourself enrolled in a proficient business school , as I have previously stated. Basically for a student to excel he needs passion. That’s extremely important in a competitive world like today. After one has the passion I believe that motivation  plays a important role to sculpt one’s life. This can be brought out by drawing inspirations from their role models. In a world where everyone is in hunger of success students tend to take immoral paths to succeed but they should realize that a successful person can feel proud and contented only when his worked hard to his way to success and those will be the only people who will reach the top. Thus the moral values like loyalty , honesty must be imbibed in business students  for a bright future ahead . “Who Moved My Cheese? “-An Amazing Way to Deal with Change in Your Work and in Your Life, published in 1998, is a motivational book by Spencer Johnson. It features four characters : two mice ; “Sniff” and “Scurry” and two little miniature people namely , “hem” and “haw”. The mice characters are adaptable to change , think only about the present and they work their way out of any situation without any regrets about the past . But the miniature people characters crib about the changes and past and fail to create a future for them.  A famous person once told that change is the only constant thing in world. How true !! Business students should shape themselves into mice characters. They must be able to let go off the past and concentrate on the present they live in. they should be able to cope with the variance in the environment they work in . But being the miniature people characters will suffocate them further. They will not only destroy their present but also their future.

Finally I would like to conclude that business is a platform where you administer several things at a time. You will have tremendous pressure to cope up with and a lot of hard work. But if you have a strong determination that its the one you want in your life , then trust me…you will love your job and thats the way to accomplishment. Be honest , work efficiently with a lot of passion and bring out a revolution to make the place we live a pleasant one. Then the whole world will admire you .
