This is from one College to Student to the Next

The best advice I can give a business school student is to stay focus. Most likely you are going to have a part/full time job and money is going to start to flow in but don’t get lured in by that and remember that there is a bigger goal at hand and that is to finish your school and get a degree. I started working part time at the age of 18 yrs. old and went to school at the same time. I worked hard enough that was given the opportunity to be a part of the management team at my job and stopped going to school. At the time life was great I was making money bosses were happy with me. But then came the recession and no longer was I their shining star, every day I feel like my job is on the line because the store is not making money like they used to and I have nothing to fall back on. When I mentioned to my boss that I wanted to go back to school it felt like I had to pick  whether I wanted a manager position or school because its business to them the years 9 yrs. I have been working for them mean nothing and said that I can’t do both. I had to step down as a manager, now I am 28 yrs. old and choosing school over a job because I want a career where I can better myself even more. If I could do it all over again I wish I had read this letter I am writing to you, saying that I should stay focus and finish school first and that once I have a degree the money will follow.
